The first thing you notice when stepping foot on the grounds of the Asara fortress is the perfect grass that covers the plateau. It's evergreen and perfectly cut as if deliberately taken care of. It wasn't long before we demystified the reason: Every morning on sunrise and every night on sunset a large herd of sheep and goats pass through the plateau lead by the local shepherd. If you stay still and keep quiet you can found yourself surrounded by the herd. Lying on the warm rocks, experiencing the sunset on the sounds of the grazing herd is one of the most relaxing moments I've ever enjoyed! It was pretty cloudy this afternoon. Nevertheless I hoped the sun will be able to pierce the clouds at sunset just for a moment or two. I have a favorite composition up on the plateau with Wonderless peak in the background and I set up my camera and tripod there. In a few moment I was surrounded by the herd perfectly complementing my composition. I took some shots but somethings was missing. Then, just before going behind the mountain, the sun pierced the clouds and lit only the sheep and the edge of the rocks keeping the ground in shadow thus creating the perfect contrast I needed.
