Behold my first steps in medium format film photography! About a year from this shot I acquired my first 35mm film SLR camera. This marked the beginning of my transition from digital to film. I fell in love with analogue photography and dedicated the next year to mastering film. Despite all the difficulties I ran at, my love only grew stronger. This path naturally led me to the magical world of medium format film photography. And here I am, with a two times heavier equipment in the chilly winter night, walking under the subtle light from East, heading to meet the sun at the Asara plateau. My Mamiya RB67 loaded with my favorite Provia 100F film, ready to capture my arising emotions. A view from the path to the Asara plateau. You can see the plateau in the right hand-side of the image and The Rock Mushroom below it, on the snowy slope. I used a 45-seconds long exposure to capture the amazing light display and a 3-stop GND filter to balance the sky. No post-processing involved.
